Was there a better time back in the day than going up the Avenue--Frankford Avenue. From the 40s up to the 80s there were stores galore on every block, with something for everybody. Who will ever forget Levin's, Nevin's, Food Fair, Spain's, Leandro's, Pat's Music, Dairy Maid, Concord Roller Rink, The Mayfair Diner, Kresge's and Woolworth's, Cramer's, Bowlero, Linton's, Horn & Hardart's and the movie theaters--Mayfair, Merben, Circle & Ellis.
