So many performers were introduced to American kids in the 50s & 60s when Dick Clark's Bandstand was broadcast live every afternoon from the old WFIL-TV studios at 46th & Market. One of the greatest girl groups ever was The Shirelles and who would think that when they introduced Mama Said on Bandstand on February 21, 1961 that 55 years later it would still be a saying for boomer angst!
