As the Boardwalk empire was in full bloom by the mid-20th century in Atlantic City, dozens and dozens of new motels were sprouting at the shore to cater to the economy clientele, those who didn't need the luxurious amenities of a fine highrise hotel but were perfectly accommodated by quality 'motor' inns with limited features. The best by far was The Deauville East & West located on the Boardwalk at Chelsea. If you were a child of the 50s or 60s and you got a chance to stay at The Deauville, your family was doing pretty, pretty good! You had all the cool features, the pool, the infamous fountain (which our CEO filled with soapsuds during the 1964 Democratic Convention), the boards, the beach, the throngs of kids, Hi-Hat Joes and Playland nearby, everything you needed! What a time it was! 30" x 62" super absorbent, quick drying micro cotton terry fleece beach towel
