What a season it was, 12-4 and champs of the NFC East and NFL thanks to coach Dick Vermiel and a beloved team of winners, led by Ron Jaworski, Harold Carmichael, Wilbert Montgomery, Carl Hairston, Bill Bergey, Herm Edwards, Frank LeMaster, Reggie Wilkes, Claude Humphrey, Tony Franklin , Jerry Robinson, John Spagnola, John Bunting, little Louie Giammona and so many more.
Unfortunately the Oakland Raiders put an end to a dream season with a 27-10 drubbing in the Super Bowl, but the memories of what almost was still lives on.
